Whether you’re looking for clubs to pad out your personal statement, or you want to meet like-minded people, The Becket school has many opportunities open to you! Read ahead for my personal favourites (in no particular order), because these clubs are a great way to get involved and spend your time productively.
Miss Livsey’s eco-club,
Usually held in B14 during Becket Reads on a Thursday, this club is a great way to make a very real difference within the school. Often we discuss ideas such as: starting a school garden, litter picking, and the possibility of introducing compost bins. It’s a lot of fun, and we’re always in need of new members and their ideas!

Mr Ward-Tipping’s Tuesday Club,
In B21 on a Tuesday lunchtime, you can find yourself in the aptly named Tuesday club. The club is a welcoming space for anyone who identifies as queer, or for anyone who wants to show their support as an LGBTQIA ally. This is an accepting space where you can share your experiences, and is a great way to meet new people. We are currently brainstorming ideas to raise money for a local charity so pop in to say hello and share your suggestions!
Grease Set Design with Mrs Brown,
If you haven’t heard by now, the school is organising our very own production of Grease (the musical). Mrs Brown is in charge of the set design, meaning the props and backgrounds, so if you want to unleash your crafty and creative side, be sure to check out A15 On a Thursday lunchtime. Right now we’re starting out with the basics, so if you want to help us recreate the iconic Rydell High, join now!
Teresa’s (12B) Maths Club,
This is a sixth form society, and the members meet up in A11 on a Wednesday lunchtime. Usually, I would never include something as intellectual as a maths club in my lowbrow article, but this group is so lovely that I have to make an exception. It’s a chill place to talk about whatever new cool fact you've learnt, and is welcoming to everyone - even the people who don’t do Maths or Further Maths A-Level. This would be great to join if you want to do something maths related in your future (basically everything), so why don’t you pop on down and give it a go?
These are some of my favourite groups to be a part of, seeing as the energy is always really fun and lively. But if these options don’t particularly entice you, then you can find the timetable of EVERY club down below!
