1-Public

At the heart of Nottingham city centre, Public, an independent coffee shop and bakery is a café perfect for studying. With free Wi-Fi and plenty of plugs and USB ports for charging, it’s an ideal choice for laptop users. Whether you’re there to study independently, or collaborate with friends, it’s a friendly social environment to get some work done. Public is renowned for their amazing food and drinks: from homemade croissants to toasties and sandwiches, with prices starting from as little as £3.70.As well as their amazing food, their coffee is incredible, and can be picked up for as little as £3.10. Why not treat yourself to a bite to eat or a simple drink to help you focus whilst getting some work done? Opening times are from 7:30am and closing time is at 8pm Monday to Friday with slightly shorter hours at weekends. Public is a busy and social work space though, so headphones are a must for optimum concentration! This cosy café is a popular choice especially among students so why not give it a try?
2-200 Degrees Coffee
200 degrees is a coffee shop with several locations across Nottingham including West Bridgford and several spots in town. Opening and closing times vary by location but the cafés all open at 7am and close late into the evening, so it's a perfect place for an early study session or a late afternoon to get some work done. All locations have free Wi-Fi available for customers, and there are lots of power sockets for laptop, so there's a good working environment in all locations. With prices ranging from £1.90 to £3.50 for hot and cold drinks and a wide selection of cakes and pastries available too, 200 degrees is an ideal urban location for busy students to work.
3-Biscuit and Brew
Having recently relocated to a bigger location on Victoria Street, Biscuit and Brew is an independent, family owned café with great food and drinks to motivate you whilst you work. Catering for all needs from vegan to gluten free, as well as serving their specialty teas and both hot and cold drinks, all their tasty treats are available from £3.85.The café also provides free Wi-Fi and multiple power outlets and is deemed as a ‘welcoming environment’ by customers so is a perfect space for studying and getting work done. Opening times are from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday but slightly less at weekends; full hours are available on their webpage at biscuitandbrew.com
A lovely, quaint cafe amongst the busy city, Biscuit and Brew is an excellent option for a study location.
4-The Bagel Project
A great place for study,a tasty bagel and highly recommended matchas, The Bagel Project is a locally owned cafe with branches across Nottingham including two locations in town and one in Sherwood. Operating times vary by location but all the cafès open at around 10am, if not earlier, and close at 4pm ,except for The Bagel Project in Hockley which stays open until 5pm; for full details of times at specific locations these are accessible online at The Bagel Project Nottingham. The Project also offers free WiFi and sockets to all customers so that you can plug in and get work done and is said to be a ‘remote work hub’ in Nottingham. Prices range between £7.50 to £8.00 for Bagels and drinks start from £2.50, so why not try a tasty bagel for a change to go with your studying.
5-Waterstone's Café
Located on the third floor in the busy bookshop, Waterstones café is tucked away and hidden amongst the books, making it the perfect setting to study. Café W’s opening times mirror those of the bookshop that it lies in, open daily from 9am until 6:30pm Monday to Saturday and 11am until 5pm Sundays, so it’s perfect for late afternoon studying. With free Wi-Fi available for customers, plentiful plug sockets and comfortable seating it’s said to be a ‘popular location for students’. Snacks and drinks are also readily available and are locally supplied where possible with prices for drinks starting from £1.90 onwards. What better place to write an essay or revise than in the peaceful atmosphere of a bookshop? You are also ideally surrounded by books to support your study, or maybe even to find a moment of relaxation amongst the chaos of exams! The café itself is our favourite hidden gem!
